" Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone". So, let's read it....

How are you? I haven't written to you for ages!!! But now I have a very good reason for it.

I met an incredible boy called Harry. He lived with his uncle and aunt and their unbearable son, his cousin Dudley. I admire Harry for coping with the Drusleys. He had to put up with them for eleven years, until he got a letter inviting him to Hogwarts - a school of witchcraft and wizardry. He was very surprised when one day appearerd a half-gigant man - Rubeus Hagrid - who told him the truth about him and his family.

Soon he was out shopping with Hagrid at Diagon Alley, where he bought his books, magic wand, robes and whatever else he needed.

After a month he set off from the platform 9 and 3/4 by a steam train, where he came to know Ron Wesley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom and Draco Malfoy. Draco seemed to be ok at first sight but soon they became the worst enemies. However, as to Ron and Hermione they became friends quite quickly.

When the children arrived at Hogwarts, they got sorted into houses named Griffindor, Huffelpuff, Ravenclaw, Slitherin. Harry got into Griffindor. At that point his adventures began. From the right arrival the boy knew that this school is more mysterious than expected.

It is impossible to describe all the adventures of famous Harry Potter. I'll just say, as an interesting fact, that from the first flying lesson Harry appeared to be unbelievably good at flying on a broom. He was the first to play Quidditch at his age from a century!!! Quidditch was the most popular game in the magical world.

If you wonder what is the Philosopher's Stone (mentioned in the title of the book) and what it has to do with the story, let me tell you... The Philosopher's Stone is not an ordinary sparkly mineral. This is the Stone of Life made by Flamel and Dumbledore. It is exactly what a Dark Lord would be looking for in the least of his powers.

If you wonder what Voldemort (the Dark Lord) has to do with Harry and much more... read the book ''Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" by J. K Rowling.

Write back soon.

Best wishes :)

Klaudia Kondrat
